All Bach Program

Noank Baptist Church

18 Cathedral Heights, Groton, CT

On Friday evening, 17 June 1983, the Connecticut Early Music Society—which had formed the previous year—presented its first Festival concert, a program of works by J. S. Bach. To celebrate our 40th anniversary, the first event of our 2022 Festival will be a reprise of that concert.

Artistic Director Ian Watson conducts the Connecticut Early Music Festival Ensemble.

Concerto for oboe and violin in C minor, BWV 1060R

Harpsichord Concerto No. 1 in D minor, BWV 1052

Cantata 209, Non sa che sia dolore, BWV 209

Brandenburg Concerto No. 5, BWV 1050.2

The first Connecticut Early Music Festival concert program. Each of the six concerts in the inaugural season featured a single composer: Bach, Handel, Haydn, Vivaldi, Mozart and Telemann.
